The word "trigger" has become so ubiquitous in our society, it has lost its truest definition: a reaction to a current day stressor that reminds us so much of past trauma, we actually relive it. This is a slippery slope for maintaining loving relationships and feeling safe in the world. Triggers can be internal (sensations in our bodies) or external (reactions to situations), and both can lead us to act in ways that are not authentic to our growth and happiness. Let's talk about triggers, why they happen, and what you can do to be awake and aware to what's happening within you. This way, you create a pause between stimulus and reaction in your life.
