Expired Mindsets with Charryse Johnson

Charryse Johnson is the founder of Jade Integrative Counseling and Wellness. It was created out of a desire to offer individuals and families comprehensive and collaborative support and care. Research affirms the unique balance between mind, body, and spirit. Thus, to address one without the other is managing symptoms, versus improving wellbeing. As a client, you will have the opportunity to explore the unique intersection between your past and present while designing a more accurate and authentic picture of what you want for your future.

In her work, therapy is viewed as a collaborative process and offers an integrated approach in which values, the search for meaning, and the power of choice are central focuses. It is her desire to offer a nonjudgemental environment that provides support, encouragement, and practical skills.

Professional Background

Mrs.Johnson holds a B.A. in Human Development and Family Studies, an M.A. in Professional Counseling, and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Trauma and Crisis. Some of her most recent work has supported corporate professionals at Microsoft Corporation in Charlotte, NC, and conducted international research geared toward reducing the stigma around mental health. In addition, she is a strong community advocate and has been a contributor on local radio, social media, television, and documentaries.

As a clinician, Mrs. Johnson has worked with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan. Due to her own experience and training,

Mrs. Johnson is expressly adept at helping individuals in both corporate and liturgical settings navigate challenging life transitions, past hurts, burnout, and managing work-life balance. Charryse has been extensively trained in the Unified Treatment Protocol which uses evidence-based approaches and transdiagnostic modalities in the treatment of disordered eating. Past clinical work has also provided experience in partial hospitalization day treatment, intensive outpatient, and group therapy settings.

As a registered yoga teacher (RYT 200) and Level 1 Embodied practitioner she often integrates mindfulness and somatic work to help clients work through what they’re experiencing, not just in their minds but in their bodies. This may be carried out through private yoga sessions or in-session experiential techniques centered around Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Mrs. Johnson works with both male and female clients, is a certified Prepare/Enrich marriage facilitator, and also has specialized training in trauma through the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP).
