Hezbollah pager explosions, France rape trial and Trump suspect’s disputed Ukraine links

An unprecedented Hezbollah security breach has seen thousands of pagers detonate across Lebanon, killing at least nine people and wounding nearly 3,000 others. In France, a man has admitted to drugging his wife and recruiting dozens of strangers to rape her over nearly a decade, in a trial that has shocked the country. A former soldier tells Reuters the suspect in an apparent assassination attempt on Donald Trump was seen as a liability by some soldiers and volunteers in Ukraine, where he offered to recruit Afghans into the Ukrainian military.
