Linguistics is the scientific study of language and its structure. Sociolinguistics is the study of language in relation to social factors. How do the changes in our societies affect the way we communicate, and in what ways does technology come into play?

Good questions, right? We asked many more during this episode of Redefining Society.

From why we say "Hello!" when answering the phone to how new generations' communications methods are affected by today's technology as well as every new generational language changes in history. How will upcoming advanced technologies  change the game even more?  Time will tell. In the meantime, our guest, Valerie Fridland, gives us some insight as to what we might expect.
