#93: Plants Are Trying to Kill You with Dr. Anthony Chaffee

Are plants trying to kill you? According to Dr. Anthony Chaffee, the answer is YES!

Dr. Chaffee lives what he believes, and for the past 20 years has been living an almost exclusively plant free carnivore diet. 

 

 It is his assertion that most of the so-called chronic diseases we treat as doctors are caused by the food we eat, or don't eat, and can be reversed with dietary changes to a species specific diet. 

 

We dive into the history of the human diet, how the balance of protein and fat from a carnivore diet can fuel even an athlete, and the nuances of how plants are toxic and possibly harmful to humans. It is his assertion that micronutrient needs can be filled completely by eating a carefully honed Carnivore Diet.

 

Dr Chaffee is an American medical doctor and Neurosurgical resident who, over a span of 20+ years, has researched the optimal nutrition for human performance and health.

 

He began his University education studying Molecular & Cellular Biology with a Minor in Chemistry at the University of Washington in Seattle at the age of 15, and went on to obtain  his MD . He is also an All-American rugby player and a former professional athlete in both the USA and Europe. 

He took several years off his education for the pursuit of his rugby career and that is when he experienced first hand the incredible difference that diet makes to performance and recovery.  

 

He is  host of  the podcast, The Plant Free MD and guested on numerous podcasts and shows as well. He has an active presence on Instagram , where he shares his insights and latest collaborations.
