The book of James describes an integrated faith & life—a life made whole in its holiness. James was the pastor of the first Christian church in Jerusalem, writing to Jewish believers living outside the nation of Israel. The words of James are God’s word for us—relevant and immediately applicable to our lives. As we journey through the book of James, immersing ourselves in the symbolic world + pressing concerns of the first century followers of Jesus, we learn to apply James’ message to our lives in the 21st century.
