
Ensign College Devotionals Learning to Love in the Dust of His Footsteps - Shima Baughman
Shima Baradaran Baughman grew up in Goshen, New York after leaving Iran as a child refugee with her family. She attended Brigham Young University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She received a law degree at BYU Law School and clerked on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals for Judge Jay S. Bybee. She served as a Fulbright Senior Scholar in Malawi then taught law at BYU and the University of Utah for thirteen years, serving as Associate Dean for her final years at the University of Utah. Sister Baughman returned to BYU in 2023 and is currently a Professor at BYU Law and a Distinguished Fellow at the Wheatley Institute. She can't wait to serve a mission. Sister Baughman and her husband, Ryan, have five children and live in Salt Lake City.
