Prime Minister Mark Carney’s government faced a crucial test — with a vote on their budget. Despite drama throughout the day, the government’s economic plan for the country passed. 170 MPs voted in favour of the budget; 168 voted against. Passage of the budget ensured that the country did not face the possibility of a snap election.
