One of the greatest needs humanity has is that of robust intimate love relationship. We were simply made for love and in the image and likeness of Love Himself. Learning to love in a fallen world full of unhealthy agendas is difficult and thorny. This is nowhere more prevalent than in our relationship with God. Humanity, those identifying themselves as Christians or not, struggles with experiencing real intimacy with God. The lies of a distant, disapproving taskmaster, who demands obedience and service and metes out punishment if we don’t meet His requirements is not a God anyone wants to cozy up to. Jesus is the express image of the Father and is motivated purely out of relationship. He is Love and His love does not come with any other agenda than laying down His life to serve His kids, Who are hopelessly lost in fallen perspectives and ways of being without Him.
