Lose Weight, Live Free | Eating Healthy, Exercise, Faith 401. Faith Filled Friday: Food is Not a Moral Issue - A Christian Perspective on Food Guilt & Diet Culture
Let me ask you something.
Have you ever noticed how quickly food can turn into a moral scorecard?
Salad for lunch? Good job.
Dessert after dinner? I was bad today.
Carbs? I shouldn’t have eaten that.
Somewhere along the way, many of us started believing that certain foods make us disciplined… and other foods make us failures.
But here’s the truth I want you to hear today: food is not a moral issue.
Your character is not defined by what you ate today.
Your worth is not measured in calories, carbs, or how “clean” your meals were.
Food is something God created to fuel your body, sustain your life, and yes—even be enjoyed. It was never meant to carry shame, guilt, or spiritual weight.
So today, we’re going to talk about what Scripture actually says about food, how diet culture quietly turns eating into a moral battle, and how you can begin to reframe food as fuel instead of a measurement of your worth.
If you’ve ever felt guilty after eating…
If you’ve ever believed you “blew it” because of food…
Or if you’re simply tired of living with that constant pressure around eating…
This conversation is for you.
So let’s dig in.
