Following its Spring publishing, the recommendations and reforms of the Gambling Review’s White Paper have been put to a summer consultation.

Yet amongst all disciplines referred, be it affordability, KYC, customer care, consumer redress stands the reform of the industry’s existing framework on Research, Education and Treatment (RET) – as the most politically charged element of UK gambling proceedings outcomes.

A mandatory 1% RET levy will be imposed on all operators, yet can the government harmonise a framework to satisfy the interest of diverse stakeholders on how RET funds are gathered and distributed
