This episode contains the first of two sessions of the Arctic Circle VIRTUAL Prelude to the Japan Forum held on May 7th 2021 in conjunction with the third Arctic Science Ministerial meeting in Japan. In the dialogue you will hear keynotes and discussions on the role of Japan in Arctic Cooperation, from H.E. Yoko Kamikawa, Chief Secretary, Parliamentary League of Arctic Frontier Study and Japan‘s Minister of Justice, H.E. Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, Chairman of the Arctic Circle and former President of Iceland and Dr. Atsushi Sunami, President of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation.
Arctic Circle is the largest network of international dialogue and cooperation on the future of the Arctic. It is an open democratic platform with participation from governments, organizations, corporations, universities, think tanks, environmental associations, Indigenous communities, concerned citizens, and others interested in the development of the Arctic and its consequences for the future of the globe. It is a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization.
