In December 2009, 28 year-old Susan Powell vanished from her home in West Valley City, Utah, leaving behind her purse, her keys, and two young sons who would later tell police she went camping with them but didn’t come home. Her husband’s overnight alibi raised immediate questions, and inside the house detectives found bloodstains, cleaned carpet, and missing electronics. But the most chilling clue was waiting inside Susan’s secret safety deposit box: a handwritten statement warning that if she died, it might not be an accident.
