It's never been more important to have a community of like-minded individuals that you can turn to. Co-host Nancy Sheed speaks with Amy Polacko, an entrepreneur and advocate for women empowerment. Amy has always been involved in strong savvy women programs and is currently running her business, Freedom Warrior.
Amy's inspiration for this program began when she started her journey as a divorced, single mom. She believes when women take their power back, after a divorce or a toxic relationship, true healing can begin.
She shares how to find a community that can help you. She explains that there is power in being part of a group where you can contribute and get be helped by others. There's more than one kind of group for women in transition and she encourages everyone to find one that fits you. Amy's group is always finding ways to help those in need and might be one you'd like to check out.
What started as a support group has grown to a community of women from all stages and is paying it forward to others. Topics range from finances, careers, legal subjects, and even dating. A sense of belonging and the support (of a group or community) can help to overcome trauma by way of practicing empathy.
To Amy, discovering one's life purpose is the first step to helping other women achieve their full potential. Finding what gets their heart racing every morning and from there, take solid action steps.
The culture of support has existed within the HAYVN community from the beginning. One example, the HAYVN book group, has discussed empathy and raising people up. It's a safe place to grow, make connections and try new things.
