The Chicago Cubs fell to the Cincinnati Reds, 7-0 Monday night in Cincy.

The loss comes just a day before the 2024 MLB trade deadline, where the Cubs could potentially be busy. Jameson Taillon, a possible trade candidate, got the start for the Cubs and allowed 6 earned runs in 4.1 innings pitched. Nate Pearson and Craig Counsell were each ejected in the bottom of the 8th.

The Cubs struggling offense could only muster 3 hits, and they lost 7-1 to the Reds.
