Why wouldn't we get jealous when our child wants to spend time with anyone but ourselves?
I believe we do get jealous. And if we aren't careful, jealousy becomes the given factor which determines how we interact with our child.
Think about what you do when your child comes to you and asks for something (i.e., spending the night, iTunes card, money, etc.). How quick do you say "yes"?
Now you might think you are looking at if it works in the budget, with your schedule, but what about subconsciously?
Most of us want to be the one our children run to.
And when they don't, our feelings are hurt. We get a bit defensive. We make decisions based on how "happy" our children will be when we give them what they want.
Is jealousy interfering with your parenting?
