Welcome to Game On JOY 94.9’s Home of Sport every Wednesday from 6-7pm where you’ll hear where you can get your game on! This show is all about showcasing where sport is safe, inclusive, welcoming and fun for the Rainbow community!

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Jackie Rosario Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator and Stuart Murphy President of the Red Tag Fly Fishers to the JOY Sport Studio to share the joys of fly fishing! Catch a rainbow and head along to their Come and Try day on Saturday 17 May at Yarra Bend to recognise IDAHOBIT day – International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia! The event is free, it’s fun and it’s a welcoming introduction to the world of fly fishing, with hands-on activities like casting, fly tying, and checking out all the gear. There’ll be prizes, giveaways and a light lunch too! Give it a go – you might get hooked! (Starts 1min 50secs)

IDAHOBIT Day is such a important day  – a day dedicated to raising awareness and taking action against discrimination and violence experienced by the LGBTQIA+ community. The date marks the anniversary of the World Health Organization’s decision in 1990 to remove homosexuality from its list of mental disorders.

We talk pride in netball with David Capron – a nonbinary netball player who was featured on the front page of the Herald Sun on ANZAC Day with the headline Netbrawl. David enacted the Netball Victoria community sport policy and has played for both the men’s and women’s teams causing a kerfuffle. We delve into how participation in sport is evolving and changing.
