Sing A New Song, written by Welsh singer-songwriter Deborah Rose, was inspired
by a Psalm given to her while working at HMP Featherstone on her ‘Spirit of
Songwriting’ course, helping to rehabilitate offenders through expression and
creativity. Shortly after, Deborah was asked by her local church to rewrite a Psalm
for a competition called “Totally Psalmic.” She used this Psalm (149) as inspiration
and wrote her first original hymn on what the Psalm meant to her. As HM King
Charles III approaches 60 days reign, Deborah realised the relevance of the words
of the song, with the dawning of a new era.
