THINNING OF THE VEIL SPIRITUAL MANIFESTATIONS PREPARATORY TO KIRTLAND'S SOLEMN ASSEMBLY
Many accounts are noted of the manifestations that happened at the Kirtland Temple solemn assembly and dedication. However, there were many revelatory experiences that happened before the actual dedication of the temple. In January of 1836, many elders of the church experienced heavenly manifestations, angelic ministrations, visionary experiences and much, much more. As they prepared for the upcoming solemn assembly by organizing, sanctifying, and learning of God's commandments, they were truly blessed with many thinning of the veil experiences. The revealed pattern for ancient solemn assemblies included an blessing and outpouring of spiritual gifts and power. If we know the pattern, we can understand what our experiences can be as we choose to participate in solemn assemblies in a higher and holier way.
