The New England Patriots, however, need to do more for Drake Maye if they want to get back to a title shot. The Washington Commanders have a second-year passer in Jayden Daniels who had a terrible season in 2025, they did not do what they needed to so far to make sure he can step back up in Year 3. The Las Vegas Raiders are about to bring in a rookie quarterback in Fernando Mendoza, but they are not ready to support him. Finally, three quarterbacks going into Year 2, Cam Ward with the Tennessee Titans, Jaxson Dart with the New York Giants and Tyler Shough with the New Orleans Saints, all got help in different ways, but was it enough?
