Grelin and leptin are the main factors of obesity, and controlled by what you eat. OBESITY IN AMERICA America is so fat compared to most countries. We are stuffing people with processed crap! The food pyramid and dietary guidelines make matters worse. Sugar and grain is subsidized by the government This is the problem with America! People with highest BMI are those who buy subsidized crap. We need to work to make real, healthy food less expneisve. Some are pleasantly surprised that they can keep their grocery budget down when they stop buying the snack foods, the sugary drinks and the other sweets. In European countries, they eat some carbs, but they eat REAL food and in smaller portions than Americans, too. We subsidize wheat, corn, and sugar because it makes America money.
