Sevilla King runs a YouTube channel called “A Quality Existence” where she explores the connection between the work of folks like Jordan Peterson, John Vervaeke, & Jonathan Pageau with the works of Robert Pirsig, author of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. This book explores what Pirsig would call the “Metaphysics of Quality” which aligns deeply with Vervaeke’s concept of relevance realization and what so many of these thinkers are talking about in the sense of meaning. In this conversation we are going to dive into what Pirsig means by “Quality”; how does it align with models presented by Peterson, Vervaeke & Pageau, and when these models conflict, how do we resolve those conflictions in a way that brings us closer to understanding meaning and implementing practices that bring more meaning to our lives.
