We are now actively in a war which we are fighting in a conventional means, as the 5th Generation War out paces us. Wars are fought with kinetic strikes and target destruction. Wars are won with information, perceptions and the ideological shifts they bring. Kinetic fights deliver the illusion of short term victories. Informational, perception and ideological wars are the true victory over the long term. Regardless of how much damage we inflict on Iran, we have lost the global high ground of the informational space. The long term impact of this war with Iran will in my opinion lead to a loss for the United States, permanently damaging the perception of our nation as trust and confidence is degraded. The short term victory is numbers. The long term victory of perception is Iran's to win or lose... and right now they are winning.
