But for some reason, your child does not listen and refuses to perform as requested.
There goes your blood pressure. And you thought climbing Mount Everest is dangerous. Raising a child is even more than challenging.
Yes, you need oxygen just to survive in both events.
So how do you love your child unconditionally?
The K.I.S.S. ~ Show your love through patient responses!From the beginning of birth, we look at our children and wish they would not grow up so fast. If you are willing to show your love through patient responses, your child can grow up in his/her time and not be pushed to do so.
- Give your child space. As your child grows up, it's important to give your child room to spread his/her wings. Plus, when you give space, you also make room for greater thoughts.
- Listen before you speak. As a parent, sticking our foot in our mouths comes easy. So slow down. Don't react so fast. Listen more than you speak. And as you listen, keep the judgment silent. You will have time to express your concerns and discipline accordingly.
- Whisper instead of yell. I don't know about you, but yelling is a way of expending built-up energy. However, if you want your child to learn from the circumstance/situation, whisper instead of yell.
