The third Payment Services Directive (PSD3) could be unveiled soon. The new legislation in Europe is expected to introduce, among other things, governance relating to consumer consent while also including metrics for improving the performance of open banking APIs. This summer already saw the publication in the UK of Open Banking Standard version 4.0, the first major release since 2018 and including important mandatory updates to the security profile and international messaging standards.
