In 1965, a woman on primetime TV said "yes, master" with a smile on her face. Millions of families watched it together. Nobody thought it was weird. Nobody thought it was BDSM. It was just... normal.

That show was "I Dream of Jeannie." And it perfectly explains submission: Discovery, freedom, then devotion.

Tony discovers Jeannie trapped in a bottle. He frees her. She CHOOSES to say "yes, master" out of gratitude and devotion. Not because he demanded it. Not because he controlled her. Because he FREED her first.

This dynamic was public. Mainstream. Family-friendly. For 5 seasons (1965-1970), Jeannie and Tony had NO PROBLEM showing their relationship on TV. And nobody batted an eye.

Today? That same relationship would be cancelled. Called toxic. Called abusive.
