• How to keep training our pets when we have a lot going on: By the time we've finished everything we need to do in a day, training often feels like too much, but by incorporating that training into our existing routines, we can change that. Start with things like teaching a dog to down-stay every time we open the fridge or getting them to sit by themselves when we go into another room.
• How to proactively replace our dogs' bad behavior: To get our dogs to stop doing one thing, we have to replace that action with something else. Teach them a skill that becomes more rewarding for them than the initial behavior, like going into a down-stay instead of barking excessively.
• What to do when we're dealing with emotional dogs: Some dogs are more reactive and emotional than others, and that can become a challenge. However, we have to remember that we're not the only ones in the situation, and small replacements of bad behavior go a long way.
