Ramadan 2016 - Surat al-Baqarah - Day 6

Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan delves into Ayats 12 and forward from Surah Al Baqarah. In Ayat number 12, the main address is to the hypocrites. When they are told not to cause mischief on the earth they say, “We are peacemakers”.  Allah SWT confirms in this Ayah, that hypocrites (Munafiqeen) think that they are reformers but they have lost the ability to perceive. By their blind arrogance, they suppress the good and encourage evil. Since they are so obviously ignorant, the hypocrites are unaware of their degree of deviation and ignorance, and such a situation is more dangerous and far from the truth than one who is aware. Hypocrites misdirect, mislead and deceive the believers. The hypocrites also want to have a share of the benefits and gains that the believers might possibly acquire. They degrade the believers by rejecting Iman and for his desires and wishes, he accepts the religion (Deen) and only performs those tasks which are easy to perform. Allah SWT says that they are Daaleen (went astray) who have no Hidayah in the matters of Ilm and Amal and they are putting their useless efforts which just amplifies their ignorance.
