Demokratin står på spel under Trumps andra presidentsperiod i USA. Det är inte Demokraterna som är oppositionen, utan gräsrotsrörelserna. Under hösten 2025 forskade Kristina Boréus på universitetet Berkley i Kalifornien och följde den framväxande motståndsrörelsen på nära håll. Hon besökte No Kingsdemonstrationer, protester mot migrantpolisen ICE utvisningar, besökte massmöten med protestkoordinatörerna The Indivisibles och följde debatterna om hur rörelserna förbereder sig på en nedmontering av demokratin.
