MULTI-SPORT ATHLETES Fewer kids these days play many sports. In Vinnie's day, the athletic kids played everything. You could get a ton of letters on your jacket. Vinnie had 4 for football, basketball, track, and field -- 16 letters total. They'd also get different champion and tournament patches, too. This worked for Vinnie! He got a D1 football scholarship to Tulane. It's good for kids to play many sports. It can often help the other sports, too. We should encourage this! Let kids play a variety of sports and love the game. Otherwise, you can really burn your kids out. Not every kid needs to get an athletic scholarship.
