The Evolution of Color Science

The book focuses on the work of eugenicists Charles and Gertrude Davenport. Eugenists were particularly interested in standardizing the color of skin as an index of their hierarchical view of race. This was a clunkier version of color science than others, but sought to systematize judgments of skin color.
