The Argument for Military Conscription
There is no justification for military conscription to a believer in freedom, he says. Government actions have laws of their own and there are going to be big failures when the government makes its own steps. And once we get the government into the act it's going to go according to its own rules - which will mean that the ultimate results are very different than the initial intent. There's not only such a thing as a market failure there's also such a thingas a government failure. That's not unknown in the modern society. The cure may be worse than the disease.
