Inherent Contempt - Is There a Cause of Action?
There are, there's a lot of interest in certain corners about sort of congress reviving the use of inherent contempt. Ithink there is, including some legislative efforts to m to try and bring it back. Despite similar calls during various elements of congressional investigations into president trump and his associates when he was in office,. like we did not actually see congress try to use its inherent contempt powers in those cases. And so i am so sceptical that it would try, and that ou know, this house committee would try and convince the house to do that in the conduct of january sixth either.
