The framework of social determinants is an important one, it has really old roots in social medicine. It's function certainly within public health but can also be used to arrest the inquiry at a specific structural level. People that have insecure, unstable housing seem to have worse health outcomes than those who live in more stable homes. But this doesn't go far enough into interrogating the political economic structure.
