In your book, you argue that workers are actively consenting to their participation in the capitalist system. So how exactly does this idea of consent work under capitalism? Well er when they what's called a new left in the 19 fifties and sixties was struggling to understand how capitalism stabilized after the war,. They came to this idea it was the working classes alisation, culturalization into the system. At the heart of it is the notion that what intellectuals, the media, the church, the state manages to do is to make the system seem legitimate - therefore elicits their consent to the system.
