The Politics of Al-Ano

Only al-Wadid ibn Abdul-Malik did this. He was the only one in the history of Islam to expand eastward as well. And where he expanded was where it remained. Nobody after him had the audacity or foolishness call it what you will to go beyond what he did. Even the latest Saudi expansions, if you look at it, they began from behind the rallah, from behind the blessed grave. You know, it's just a matter of respect.
