What's the Special Skill Set of a Political Reporter?

i was reflecting on this and realizing i don't actually know anything about what that job entails, like what it means to be a reporter on the ground on a campaign trail. Well, i know nthing about it, so that's a whole another brodcast that would last five hours. I've two documents, content pieces for people to look at. One is a papera study i wrote when i did a fellowship at harvard's schorenstein center on media, politics and public policy. Sounds dorky. But even if you don't care about politics, ah, it really helped me think through some challenges and opportunities in political media.
