Ellie Gershwin is a co-author of the study Lifting Universal Masking in Schools, COVID-19 incidents among students and staff. She says that even if masking adherence wasn't perfect, we're still seeing this huge harm of taking away the mask mandates. "It really kind of emphasizes the fact that having everyone required to mask, even if it's not perfect," she says.
