Law Sets the Terms of Engagement

When you get to a legal person, the law sees that as a very individualized construct. So in many ways, it's actually not appropriate as a model for understanding what the environment is. We've tried to use the law to dictate to the world around us about how we want to engage with it and with each other. Western law is really bad at doing that. When you look at the different models of law that come through Indigenous communities, they are much more responsive to the world surrounding them.
