Steinsgate: A Game That Can Hardly Be Considered a Game
There's an entire genre of game in Japan, which is more like a novel than a game. In this chapter you give a sort of a pre history I guess first to start out playing with this idea of interpassivity. But then you dive specifically into a case study of a game called Steinsgate and its aesthetics of stereo mimesis that we've been talking about. It kind of illuminates the gray area between concepts such as narrative play and reality. And maybe these kinds of games that the opposite of immersion might be true that it's not about interactivity, it's about inter passivity.
