The Ugo, a Sub-Compact Hatchback

The hugo was a sub compact hatchback and it was, in fact, very, very cheap. The early models had an engine that put out a measly 55 horse power. Dealers would sell the car for around four thousand dollars. This was about twice what they paid when they were buying the cars wholesale from eastern europe. There's a widespread joke that the ugo had a rear window to froster because you could keep your hands warm while you pushed the car after it broke down.
