The antarctic treaty is undoubtedly one of the most successful sets of international agreements. It was signed during the cold war, a period of extreme geo political tension. Climate change and antarctic tourism were not anticipated when the original treaty was drawn up. While additional proticles have put measures in place, this has been proactive rather than anticipating the future. Do you think that the arctic treaty will stand the test of modern times?
