The Importance of Time Delay Interferometry
Time delay is. much longer time for the laser to get from spacecraft to spacecraft, like on order of more than 10 minutes. Even in laser, we don't directly interfere the signals from two arms. What we actually do is we detect or we measure each arm separately. And then on ground, we do what's called time delay interferometry and kind of do the interferometry on ground by digitally combining the two lasers.
