Growing up in Ireland, I didn't think that I could make it as professionally in Ireland. So what I wanted to do was play for Middlesex and play for the young cricketers. And even though you didn't have a sort of substantial county career, your players can't do that anymore because you're a full member nation. The Irish domestic system has to stand up and be good enough to develop players. We need to play on really good wickets because that's what you play on an international cricket.
