Introduction

Chingford Mount Cemetery was opened in 1884 by the Abney Park Cemetery Company. The cemetery became known for being noisy and smelly because of a politician who ate too much at a dinner party. One woman's body had been preserved through mummification inside an iron coffin, but her identity remained a mystery until now.
