Solar Particles - Are They Interfering With Each Other?
Solar particles cause aurora in the upper atmosphere. But when they get a bit further down into the strato sphere, they noticeably cause ozone depletion events. At high latitudes, the sun's more active, and this depleted ozon air sinks downwards towards the equator. Theyre much more intermittent than the sort of 11 year cycle,. but it's not clear that they come far enough down to have an effect on temperature at the surface.
