The Evolution of Cities
Before motorized vehicles, there were hundreds of thousands of horses in a big city. In early New York, people were kind of horrified by the amount of pigs and wild dogs that were roaming the streets. As London suburbanizes, for example, it becomes home to an incalculable number of starlings which had never been seen in cities until about the end of the 19th century.
