SVT is usually not immediately threatening to somebody's health. It would be very unusual for a kid to get into any sort of significant trouble in SVT, even if they've been in it for a few hours. But generally speaking, kids can tolerate SVT for several hours at a time without getting themselves into too much trouble. The risk of progressing toward what we call attack of cardiac induced cardiomyopathy starts to really elevate.
