The Grateful Dead's Cultural Phenomenon

The Grateful Dead have always said that it is not possible for me to understand their art. The only way, they were very clear about this, was to see them live while on psychedelic drugs. I never saw the Grateful Dead live. Their last UK performance was a couple of years before I went to my first ever gig and I have never taken a psychedelic substance. So by the Grateful Dead's own criteria, it is literally impossible for me to understanding or explain their music in any meaningful way. This is one reason of Sefel why I placed these two episodes back to back. Of course there is a difference between Jung and the Grateful Dead. There are literally thousands of concert recordings in circulation
