The Importance of Reason in Moral Decision Making
I think that there certainly is a lot of truth here, and the connotations of the word empathy are just so positive. It goes back to what you started with, which is I kind of want to make the case for reason and against emotions. What sort of emotion would you think would be good? And I can make the case that even for that, you're better off with more rational approaches.
